Urania NV was founded in 1903 by Frederik Regout in Maastricht. Urania was the first Dutch factory manufacturing art and luxury objects in metal.
The designs of the produced metal objects are typically Jugendstil or Art Nouveau. Famous designers like Friedrich Adler and Hugo Leven worked for this factory. Their contribution resulted in brilliant and original pewter objects.
There is little known about this factory, because the production already stopped in 1910. The pewter objects were marked with Urania and with an unique number. This website categorizes the collection according to these numbers.
